A Disaster

Corroborating Digital Testimonial Influence Leverage The Raven The Thief
The Tortoise beats the Hare.

MILESTONE

This video marked the first time The Raven and The Thief would appear on camera together. This was most likely was filmed while The Raven was visiting Chicago, and The Thief/Kiki were still together.

I set The Thief’s maturation date as 9/11/2020 - exactly one year from the release of this video. This was completely unintentional.

The bait

SIGNAL

The Thief says, “Erin has a way of being extremely relatable to a lot of people who may not think it’s easy to relate to other people.” - @0:26

The Raven responds, “My favorite thing about Chris' content is that he feels like a cool older brother…

ANALYSIS

Ouch. Friend-zoned.

The trauma

SIGNAL

When asked what his favorite childhood memory is, The Thief responded, “I’m going to come back to that one.” - @2:44

ANALYSIS

He didn’t.

Perfectionism

SIGNAL

The Raven states that she puts an inordinate amount of planning into her videos. - @5:00

ANALYSIS

I’m a perfectionist, too. It took me 30 years to start this particular project.

Publish humiliation

SIGNAL

The Raven describes the first comment The Thief ever left in her YouTube comments section. She goes on to read it verbatim. - @10:48

ANALYSIS

The Thief is clearly humiliated. He is nearly in tears. The Raven is clearly emotional, too. This is hard for both of them.

I initially tied this to the idea of something like a sting operation. If The Raven is creating videos online, there are going to be many men throwing themselves at her. Some are going to be persistent, threatening, and even dangerous.

This is definitely happening to children. The Raven has been producing videos since she was at least 12. If you look up any predator sting operation on YouTube, they are always the same: the predator makes contact with a child, and lures them to a public place. Once there, the predator is “stung,” and their punishment is public shaming.

I interpreted this situation with The Thief to be similar. No, he’s not a predator. He’s playing the role of someone who moved far too quickly, and far too forcefully - and he’s paying the price.

Whether or not that’s actually true doesn’t really matter. It is his role in this.

He was the hare, while I am the tortoise.

SIGNAL

The Thief says, “I used to take her videos to Kiki and be like, is this me?” - @12:56

ANALYSIS

I initially missed this detail, because I didn’t know who Kiki was. Now that I know that she and The Thief were dating, during the EXACT same period of time that The Raven was visiting Chicago, I interpret their above emotions differently.

They seem to be grieving.

What is ASMR?

SIGNAL

The Raven describes that the essence of ASMR is connected to empathy. - @13:16

ANALYSIS

I have come to agree with this wholeheartedly. This experiment is clearly to see how the impact of empathy delivered through technology can help rehabilitate a person with mental illness.

My name

SIGNAL

The Raven mentions an artist named “Malcolm Bike.” - @14:49

ANALYSIS

My alias is “Malcolm Maxwell.”

The Raven mentions “Malcolm Gladwell” in the second and last video she did on The Thief’s channel.

His favorites

SIGNAL

The Thief says, “I like all of your ‘Show & Tell’ stuff…” - @16:50

ANALYSIS

The Thief is me. The Thief is Ink.

And The Raven’s first three “Show & Tell” videos are significant:

  1. ASMR Show & Tell #1
  2. ASMR Show & Tell #2
  3. ASMR Show & Tell #3

Remember, verification comes in threes.

SIGNAL

The Thief says, “[I like] ‘ASMR That Is Kind Of Weird My Dudes.’ That’s fun. But wait! You did a very sincere personal attention video lately…” - @17:05

ANALYSIS

As I’ve previously stated, “ASMR That Is Kind Of Weird My Dudes” was engineered to bring men to their knees. This is The Raven’s bait video.

This one is probably the second video he was talking about. This one really got to me, as well. It was released just days before this one.

This is a story about a public figure and her anonymous counterpart falling in love. By being the hare that he was, The Thief lost that opportunity, and now has to play the role of her fake boyfriend before the world.

More humiliation

SIGNAL

The Raven tells a story about The Thief pouting in the car. - @20:33

ANALYSIS

It’s embarrassing.

SIGNAL

The Raven says, “I didn’t want to show [her childhood video] to him because I was like, ‘He’s going to find out that I am the way that I am… you know.'” - @21:39

ANALYSIS

She’s an actress. Her public image is so damn perfect because she’s been practicing since she was 12 years old.

Superpowers

SIGNAL

When asked what superpowers they would choose, The Raven says that she would choose the power to stop time, so that she could fully absorb a moment before it’s gone. - @24:23

ANALYSIS

The Raven and I are going to live in this moment for the rest of our lives. This is our story. We will be telling it forever.

Juxtaposition

SIGNAL

The Thief mentions, “The Justa P.” - @27:18

ANALYSIS

The Raven and my story is a story in juxtaposition. Black and white. Good and evil. Man and woman. Yin and Yang. Engineer and artist.

Need I go on?
