/r/5September2020 Conspiracy
MILESTONE⌗
This date marks the day of The Girl Next Door’s initial reveal and the butternut squash incident.
Herding cats⌗
SIGNAL⌗
The infamous /r/5September2020 was created on this day:
ANALYSIS⌗
I didn’t discover this subreddit until mid-2020. It was a draconian mess, but it was effective. Admins heavily moderated all posts and comments, only allowing a select few per day through.
In turn, this painted a picture that sowed confusion about what the 5/9/2020 prediction was actually about. Nobody knew what was coming. Even the choice to label it this way - when American English would call it 9/5/2020 - was to cause confusion.
They weren’t really making any claims, or selling any particular story. They simply let the users develop their own hypotheses.
They were scaring people, without providing any answers.
ACTION⌗
I used this subreddit as a launching-point for my own works. Ink.University quickly became integrated with the lore of /r/5September2020. Most of my followers came from here.
SIGNAL⌗
My following was further-bolstered when Ryan, of the Nexpo YouTube channel, published a video about /r/5September2020.
ANALYSIS⌗
Just another example of my name coming up. Many of my followers speculated that Nexpo and I may be one-in-the-same.
Erasing history⌗
SIGNAL⌗
Immediately following 9/5/2020, when nothing meaningful had happened, the moderators of this subreddit vanished. The subreddit was quickly overtaken by new moderation, and history of what happened was erased.
ANALYSIS⌗
You had to be there. Ink.University was a hot topic.
The seed has been planted.
