In an attempt to teach my old boss about the importance of context, I would travel to Aventiv HQ to deliver a gift.

After, I would go to lunch at the nearby Raising Cane’s.

Upon leaving the restaurant, I witnessed a woman climb from a blue PT Cruiser, and walk in after me. This woman looked exactly like a former coworker.

She looked exactly like Mary Raymond.

ANALYSIS⌗

I would later speak to a different person who told me that Mary never owned a blue PT Cruiser. Regardless, I still have a vague memory of a blue PT Cruiser sitting in CyberDefenses' parking lot on several occasions.

Given this system of trust, the person I talked to may not be able to tell me the whole truth.

Several days later, after being locked in a mental health clinic, I would witness The Indestructible make a quiet phone call. After hanging up, she would turn directly to me and exclaim, “That’s so funny! My mom saw your dad at Raising Cane’s!”

The A-System would interject, “Oh, that was actually my dad!”

ACTION⌗

Given the secrecy surrounding all of this, I didn’t pry. We were under 24-hour surveillance in this place, and I didn’t want to do anything that would make me stand out.

I don’t know if this event was significant. It sure seemed out-of-place. Why would The Indestructible think that my dad was at Raising Cane’s?

And why would The A-System immediately respond with the clarification that it was his?

Just for the record: neither of the people I talked to were schizophrenic.

By whatever chain of events, I added the name “Mary” to the list of The Queen’s aliases.

It would later come to my attention that the name “Maya” (The Case Worker) was German for the name Mary:

Given the importance of The Case Worker in this scenario, I find it interesting that her name is linked to Mary.

Then, there’s Mary, the mother of Jesus. If this program is linked to something like the Garden of Eden, then perhaps there is a link here, too.

I’m not claiming to be the new Jesus, but I certainly do seem to be The Chosen One.

Maria is also another German alias of Mary. It is referenced in the Caligula’s Horse song, “Slow Violence.”

The inclusion of this name in the song is strange. This isn’t a concept album, so it’s not telling a story. Maria isn’t really explained in this song, either. The band has not spoken about its meaning publicly, either.

It seems to have no context.

The tailing didn’t stop here.

When I left my hotel room for dinner that evening, a police dog ran over to me from a car sitting idle, with blacked-out windows. The dog wasn’t interested in pats; he was sniffing me for weapons.

As I drove to the local Arby’s, I would find my path blockaded by a dozen emergency vehicles.

After rerouting, and arriving at the Arby’s, a security truck would pull alongside of my car, and watch me suspiciously.

These guys were watching my every move.

And they were making it overwhelmingly obvious.
