Mistaken Identity
A life in fear⌗
ACTION⌗
As detailed here, I was put into a mental hospital against my will. During the investigation process, I was shown several things of great importance.
SIGNAL⌗
The FBI officer assigned to this case would ask me a series of questions. One of them was, “Where is the AK-47?”
ANALYSIS⌗
I don’t own an AK-47. That didn’t stop them from putting that on all of my intake paperwork, though.
SIGNAL⌗
While sitting in the back of the police car, in handcuffs, an officer would return to the front seat. He would turn his computer to face me, then start to flicker between two profiles in their database. One was clearly me, while the other was a duplicate identity - with my exact name, my old house address, and a bunch of open warrants.
ANALYSIS⌗
I believe that the FBI were showing me how simple it is to frame a person for whatever they want. All you have to do is add a duplicate to the system.
While I was told that I’d be put into the mental hospital for my own safety, I believe that they truly did it because they didn’t know who I was. They didn’t know if I was actually this other person.
The moment I stepped inside, I was diagnosed with schizophrenia. There was no assessment. Just a three-minute chat with a psychiatrist at 4am.
I was guilty until proven innocent.
SIGNAL⌗
While sitting in the back of the police car, an officer was repeatedly clicking the door locks.
ANALYSIS⌗
This sounded like morse code. I don’t understand morse code, but I do know that this continued throughout most of the time I was at the stop.
A message from boss⌗
SIGNAL⌗
While sitting in intake, I received another message from The Dave. This time, it came via a user-submitted comment on the evening news:
“I hope you enjoy your time off.”
“While you’re relaxing in there, everyone out here is focused on the impeachment.”
“=-Dave”
ANALYSIS⌗
This message was followed by Tame Impala’s “The Less I Know the Better.”
