The Raven and The Thief trick the world.

The sandwich

SIGNAL

The Raven tells a story about a man she knew who broke up with his girlfriend. Immediately following, he went to make a sandwich - and his ex stabbed him with a knife. - @4:24

The Thief pauses the video, and inserts a long-winded monologue analyzing this story. In particular, The Thief is concerned about “how long the man waited before making a sandwich.” He asks, “Does the amount of effort that you put into the sandwich… correlate to how much the person meant to you? …I feel like that is a sign that you were not very affected by this breakup.

ANALYSIS

I think that this could be related to his first video with The Raven, where he had just broken up with Kiki. Is he drawing attention to the fact that he was, in fact, emotional during that period of time, and that it was, in fact, strange for people to think that he was pursuing a new relationship so quickly? He had been engaged to Kiki for more than a year.

The anonymous artist

SIGNAL

The Thief says, “I feel like if you’re anonymous, then your fascination level increases.” - @7:28

ANALYSIS

I am currently anonymous to both of them.

Her Leaf

SIGNAL

The two mention the movie “Her” again. - @10:51

ANALYSIS

The two probably watched it together.

My name

SIGNAL

The Raven mentions an artist named “Malcolm Gladwell.” - @27:10

ANALYSIS

My alias is “Malcolm Maxwell.”

The Raven mentions “Malcolm Bike” in the first video she did on The Thief’s channel.

The Tortoise and the Hare

SIGNAL

The Thief says, “I’ve always admired people who master something… because I always goof off before mastering something.” - @34:23

ANALYSIS

Just a little hint at the fact that I mastered my profession before diving into a relationship.

Slow and steady wins this race.

Trust the pedestal

SIGNAL

The Thief sets expectations about The Raven. - @39:28

ANALYSIS

I never put The Raven on a pedestal. I’ve always understood that there is more to her than the person I can see on camera.

This is why I was so careful in my approach. It was to protect myself, as well as her, from harm.
