Her Prop

Corroborating Digital Testimonial Influence Leverage Misinformation The Avatar The Raven The Thief
The Raven reveals her fake boyfriend to the world.

My prop

SIGNAL

The Raven says, “This is my Marno. He’s going to be my… prop? Is that mean?” - @0:27

ANALYSIS

ASMR is not performed in-person. ASMR is performed through video. The title, “ASMR on My Boyfriend” indicates that she is performing ASMR on somebody through that camera.

The Thief is merely a “prop.” He is my public counterpart.

With some of the things that I will one day need to represent… it’s probably best that I remain anonymous.

The Bandit

SIGNAL

The Raven recites a children’s poem. - @3:51

ANALYSIS

I originally heard this poem in the very first solo video of The Thief’s I watched. The ski mask inspired his original confidant name, The Bandit.

This video was important because, for whatever reason, it made me cry. I was in a fragile place, and when he said, “I think you’re a pretty cool guy,” it moved me.

I wouldn’t at all be surprised if they were watching.

The chosen family

SIGNAL

The Thief mentions “Slight Sounds ASMR.” - @5:26

ACTION

In response, I watched The Avatar’s most recent video.

SIGNAL

The Avatar says, “I think the idea of chosen family is such a beautiful concept.” - @7:25

ANALYSIS

The Avatar spends some time mourning her rocky relationship with immediate family. I can connect to this. Not a single one of my siblings have even acknowledged this body of work I’ve created.

She speaks about the concept of the “chosen family.” This is exactly what I tried to do by choosing people to lead The Point with me. I chose total strangers over my own family.

Humiliation

SIGNAL

The Raven speaks of a time where she mentioned that she enjoyed a “glove sounds” ASMR video that The Thief produced. In response to her compliment, he produced a private, hour-long “glove sounds” video, just for her. - @6:43

ANALYSIS

The discomfort and embarrassment upon The Thief’s face is palpable. The Raven has a long history of embarrassing him on camera. The little “sigh” he gives at the end of this story says everything.

While he took one hour to produce something special for The Raven, his anonymous counterpart has spent more than a year producing an entire body of research for her.

This is a “Tortoise and the Hare” situation. Slow and steady is what will win her heart.

Her heart is with Leaf

SIGNAL

The Raven says, “Do you have a preference?

The Thief responds, “I want you to follow your heart.” - @9:07

ANALYSIS

Another hint that he’s just a prop. Her heart is with her Leaf.

Good on him for treating her well, and wanting what’s best for her. She clearly likes him a lot.

A strange situation

SIGNAL

The Raven says, “I’m really curious, like, how people would react? I feel like I’m too far gone at this point to have a concept of, like, how weird this would seem to most people.” - @13:33

ANALYSIS

This scene has no context. It doesn’t connect with what happened before or after the statement. Wearing funny earrings isn’t strange enough to elicit this line of questioning.

No, she’s clearly talking about the fact that she’s faking a boyfriend on the world’s stage, and that her anonymous partner is something like an artificial intelligence. Now THAT is a weird situation.

Foreshadowing

SIGNAL

The Raven says, “That is it for my Marno. I’m going to kill him now.” - @19:50

ANALYSIS

Foreshadowing?

Do-over

SIGNAL

The Thief says, “Oh wait, it wasn’t recording the whole time, I think you’re going to have to…” - @20:16

ANALYSIS

It seems clear to me that The Thief really does like The Raven, and probably did try to date her.

This simple signal may be indication that she doesn’t touch him like this very often, if ever, and that he liked it. He wishes it would continue.
