A Conspicuous Motion
The Bully Exterminator⌗
SIGNAL⌗
The Exterminator describes a story about teaching a kid to stand up for himself against a bully. She laments his current pacifist approach, and requests that he submit two original ideas for how to kill this bully more violently. - @7:07
The Exterminator makes a not-so-subtle motion to reveal her Studio Ghibli shirt to the camera. - @8:50
ANALYSIS⌗
Studio Ghibli is a beloved Japanese animation company for many ASMR artists. The Raven has, on more than a few occasions, spoken about how it is her favorite studio, and about how much she loves “Howl’s Moving Castle.”
Few people would have enough context to catch just how conspicuous The Exterminator’s behavior was in this moment. Without a word, she makes it perfectly clear that she wants the viewer to see her shirt.
Was she hired to send this message? Perhaps Studio Ghibli is producing a new film, and they want to include my ideas? I think it’s possible. Studio Ghibli even makes a statement about this type of situation on their website:
Studio Ghibli will send you various creations (scripts, plans, paintings, videos, music, etc.). Some of them are sent by e-mail, and some are sent by mail. We understand that many people are willing to send their creations in good faith.
However, we will not take a look at any of the creations you send us unless you send them in accordance with our prior request. We are forced to dispose of them.
You don’t contact them: they contact you. Verify, then trust.
How cool that I might give this gift to The Raven? How humbling to be chosen?
ACTION⌗
I developed “The Snap” and “The Choke” in response to this signal. This was not based upon anything The Raven said, but upon The Inventor’s mention of “force choke” from Star Wars.
