On Valentine’s Day, The ASMR Ryan and Busy B ASMR released a collaboration video, roleplaying an “awkward first date.”

This struck me in a number of ways. For one, my name always catches my attention, but Busy B’s REAL name is “Raven,” too. So that seemed meaningful. I’ve been saying for a long time that The Raven (not THIS Raven) and I are meant to be together, and this video seemed like no coincidence.

Further, this is a video where the two actors are in the same room. This is exceedingly rare in the age of COVID-19. The vast majority of ASMR collaborations are integrated in post-production. ASMR artists are almost NEVER in the same room.

Finally, this video was well-rehearsed. I did not notice a single cut through the entirety of it, yet both actors seemed to flow through the (awkward) conversation with ease. They seemed to know exactly what they were supposed to do - as if they had practiced quite a bit in advance.

My guess? Somebody (read: YouTube, FBI, etc) paid them to do this. They put in a little bit of extra effort - probably because the money was good!
