Google search results are manipulated in a different way.

Hard No

SIGNAL

On the eve of 5/9/2021, minutes before midnight, I searched Google for the song “Making No Sound (At All)”, by the band Tub Ring. My intent was to send these lyrics to The Ghost.

What returned was something completely different. Upon hitting “enter,” my search query was changed to “Toehider - The Sun Can’t Hold a Candle to the Moon.” Not only did the search change, but all of the results changed, too.

ANALYSIS

This could be explained in several ways:

  1. I made a typo (highly unlikely; I’m a great typer, and I watched myself write the entire search string).
  2. A local hacker on my computer manipulated search results.
  3. Google themselves manipulated my search results.

Given other things I’ve seen, such as Google listening through my Google Home device, and manipulation of a YouTube video in a way that should be impossible to the average user, I’m inclined to believe Google did this.

ACTION

After seeing this, I simply rolled with the new song. I copied a section of lyrics, and sent them to The Ghost:

five/nine

Then, I went to The Source’s Discord server, and posted a link referencing the Toehider song, “Meet the Sloth (at midnight)” - at exactly midnight.

ANALYSIS

As seen in the above image, there were exactly 59 users online in Toehider’s Discord server at the moment I linked to them.

It was the Five/Nine conspiracy returning - on exactly 5/9.
